Four Points Healing Centre

Why the name Four Points?

Four Points Healing Centre was initially conceived based upon influence from Native Americans medicine wheel, the significance of the number relating to directions, physical healing, according to NIH and Native Voices, the Medicine Wheel is a symbol of health and healing that has been used by generations of various Native American tribes. It stands for the cycle of life, the four directions, and the dimensions of health. The four directions are usually associated with assorted colors, elements, animals, plants, and aspects of life.

The number four and the pattern of four appears in all areas of human life. Traditionally in numerology the number four represents practicality, hard work, discipline, and stability. Balance of the four points of life is definitely a journey that requires work and will provide stability. Below are examples of life patterns of four:

Our bodies have four stages of physical healing, which are hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. These are the phases that the body goes through when it is injured and tries to repair itself. Each stage has distinctive characteristics, and functions. Clotting, fighting infection, forming new tissue, and restoring strength.

Music often follows a rhythmic or melodic motif of four notes or beats. Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, one of the most recognizable openings in history, is a pattern of four: G-G-G-Eb. The common time signature is a pattern of 4\4. This time signature is utilized often by musicians in the following genres: western rock, pop, country, and blues. Some familiar songs in 4/4 time are, Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees, Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Rollin in the Deep by Adele, and Highway to Hell by AC/DC. However, there are many others not listed here.

In nature we see the pattern of four in four leaf clovers, symbolizing, luck, faith, and love, our four seasons due to the tilt of Earth’s axis and its orbit around the sun, the four phases of the moon, the four elements, and even the four chambers of the heart.

Software engineering patterns of four are solution and strategies that address problems, for example, the Gang of Four (GOF) patterNs are a set of twenty-three common software design patterns introduced in the nook Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software.

All things health…

Some of the possible challenges of our healing approach are:

  • You may face resistance or skepticism from others who do not understand or share your healing approach.
  • You may encounter difficulties or obstacles in accessing or using your five external senses or seven internal senses, such as sensory impairments, energy blockages, or emotional traumas.
  • You may struggle with finding or creating rituals that resonate with you and your goals.

Four Points provides business coaching, business support groups for women entrepreneurs, business classes, resources for various areas of small business owners, through individual coaching, support groups, speakers, and professional instruction.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there were 1.1 million women-owned employer firms in the U.S. in 2018, which made up 19.9% of all employer firms.

Hypnosis is a technique that can help people achieve various goals, such as weight loss, pain relief, behavior change, and stress reduction. However, the success rate of hypnosis may vary depending on the individual, the issue, and the method of hypnosis. According to some research studies, hypnosis has a 93% success rate after only 6 sessions, compared to 72% for behavioral therapy and 38% for psychotherapy.

Benefits, Possible Challenges and Approach

Some of the possible benefits of our healing approach are:

  • You can use your five external senses (hearing, smell, sight, taste, and touch) to enhance your awareness and appreciation of the present moment, as well as to stimulate and soothe your nervous system.
  • You can use your seven internal senses (crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral, and root chakras) to balance and harmonize your energy, emotions, thoughts, and actions.
  • You can use rituals to create meaning and purpose in your life, as well as to connect with yourself, others, nature, and the divine.
  • You can use your intuition to guide you in making decisions and trusting your journey.
  • You can use your self-expression to communicate your truth and be heard.
  • You can use your self-love to accept and forgive yourself and others.
  • You can use your gratification to enjoy and celebrate life.
  • You can use your survival to protect and care for yourself.

  • You may doubt or ignore your intuition, especially if it contradicts your rational or logical thinking.
  • You may fear or avoid expressing your truth, especially if it conflicts with others’ expectations or opinions.
  • You may lack or lose self-love, especially if you face criticism or rejection from others or yourself.
  • You may overindulge or underappreciate your gratification, especially if you have unhealthy habits or low self-esteem.
  • You may compromise or neglect your survival, especially if you have financial, physical, or mental health issues.

Where do I start? That’s a great question. Overcoming the challenges of our healing approach may require some trial and error, as well as patience and perseverance. However, there are some general strategies that may help you along the way:

  • Seek professional help. If you are dealing with trauma, crisis, or setback that affects your mental or physical health, it is important to consult with a qualified expert who can provide you with appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and support. A therapist, counselor, doctor, or coach can help you cope with your emotions, address your needs, and guide you in your healing process.
  • Build a support network. You don’t have to go through this alone. Having supportive people in your life can make a big difference in your healing journey. Reach out to your family, friends, or other trusted people who can listen to you, empathize with you, and offer you practical or emotional help. You can also join a support group, online or offline, where you can connect with others who share similar experiences or goals.
  • Practice self-care. Taking care of yourself is essential for your well-being and recovery. Make sure to attend to your basic needs, such as eating well, sleeping enough, staying hydrated, and exercising regularly. Also, do things that make you happy, relaxed, and fulfilled, such as hobbies, leisure activities, or creative pursuits. You can also try some relaxation techniques, such as meditation, mindfulness, breathing exercises, yoga, or hypnosis to reduce your stress and calm your mind.
  • Learn from others. You are not the first or the only one who has faced challenges in your healing approach. There are many people who have gone through similar or worse situations and have overcome them successfully. You can learn from their stories, insights, and advice, and apply them to your own situation. You can read books, articles, blogs, podcasts, or videos that feature inspiring or helpful stories of people who have healed from trauma or setbacks. You can also ask someone you admire or respect for their tips or guidance.
  • Be flexible and adaptable. Healing is not a linear or predictable process. It may involve ups and downs, twists and turns, and surprises and setbacks. You may encounter new challenges or difficulties that require you to adjust your plans, expectations, or strategies. Instead of resisting or giving up, try to embrace change and adapt to the new circumstances. Be open to trying new things, learning new skills, or exploring new opportunities. Be willing to modify your goals, methods, or timelines if needed. Be creative and resourceful in finding solutions or alternatives. You can learn more about how to be flexible and adaptable here.

Business

Four Points provides business coaching, business support groups for women entrepreneurs, business classes, resources for various areas of small business owners, through individual coaching, support groups, speakers, and professional instruction.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there were 1.1 million women-owned employer firms in the U.S. in 2018, which made up 19.9% of all employer firms. These firms employed over 10.1 million workers and generated $1.8 trillion in revenues annually. The number of women-owned businesses has been growing steadily in recent years, with an average of 1,800 new women-owned businesses created each day in the U.S. in 2021. Women-owned businesses are also more concentrated in certain sectors, such as Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services, and Health Care and Social Assistance.

Some of the common challenges faced by women-owned businesses are:

  • Limited funding: Women entrepreneurs often face difficulties in securing adequate capital for their ventures, as they receive only a small fraction of venture capital and bank loans compared to men.
  • Gender biases: Women entrepreneurs may encounter stereotypes, discrimination, and harassment in the male-dominated business world, which can affect their confidence, motivation, and opportunities.
  • Lack of resources: Women entrepreneurs may have less access to mentors, networks, training, and markets than men, which can limit their growth potential and competitiveness.
  • Work-life balance: Women entrepreneurs may struggle to balance their personal and professional responsibilities, especially if they have family or caregiving obligations, which can affect their health, well-being, and productivity.

These are some of the major challenges that women-owned businesses face, but they are not insurmountable. Many women entrepreneurs have overcome these barriers and achieved success in various fields. They can also leverage the support of various organizations, programs, and initiatives that aim to empower and promote women in business.

There are various sources of funding for women-owned businesses, such as grants, loans, and equity financing. Depending on your business goals, needs, and eligibility, you can explore different options to find the best fit for your venture. Here are some resources that can help you:

  • Grants: Grants are free money that you don’t have to repay, but they are usually very competitive and have specific requirements. You can search for federal, state, and local grants on Grants.gov, or look for private grants from organizations that support women entrepreneurs, such as Amber Grant, SoGal Startup Grant, Cartier Women’s Initiative Award, and Eileen Fisher Women-owned Business Grant.
  • Loans: Loans are borrowed money that you have to repay with interest, but they can offer more flexibility and availability than grants. You can apply for loans from banks, credit unions, online lenders, or alternative lenders. You can also check out the SBA loan programs, such as 7(a) loans, 504 loans, and microloans, which offer low-interest rates and favorable terms for small businesses. You can use the Lender Match tool to find lenders that offer SBA loans.
  • Equity financing: Equity financing is money that you receive from investors in exchange for a share of ownership in your business, but it can also involve giving up some control and decision-making power. You can seek equity financing from angel investors, venture capitalists, crowdfunding platforms, or family and friends. You can also join networks and programs that connect women entrepreneurs with investors, such as Women’s Venture Capital Fund, Astia, Springboard Enterprises, and Pipeline Angels.

These are some of the common funding options for women-owned businesses, but they are not the only ones. You can also consider other sources of funding, such as bootstrapping, partnerships, donations, or competitions. You can also consult with a business counselor or mentor to get personalized advice and guidance on finding funding for your business. You can find free or low-cost counseling services from Women’s Business Centers, SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, or Veterans Business Outreach Centers.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a technique that can help people achieve various goals, such as weight loss, pain relief, behavior change, and stress reduction. However, the success rate of hypnosis may vary depending on the individual, the issue, and the method of hypnosis. According to some research studies, hypnosis has a 93% success rate after only 6 sessions, compared to 72% for behavioral therapy and 38% for psychotherapy. However, these results may not be general to all cases and contexts. Hypnosis is not a magic bullet that can solve any problem, but rather a tool that can enhance the effectiveness of other therapies and interventions. Therefore, the success rate of hypnosis may depend on factors such as the quality of the hypnotherapist, the motivation and cooperation of the client, the suitability of the issue for hypnosis, and the use of appropriate techniques and suggestions. Hypnosis is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather a personalized and flexible approach that can be tailored to the needs and preferences of each client.

Hypnosis is a technique that can help people achieve various goals, such as weight loss, pain relief, behavior change, and stress reduction. However, there are also many myths and misconceptions about hypnosis that can prevent people from using it effectively or even trying it at all. Here are some of the most common misconceptions about hypnosis:

These are some of the common misconceptions about hypnosis, but there are many more. You can also try hypnosis yourself with a qualified and experienced hypnotist or with a self-hypnosis audio or video.

Some of my favorite videos available on Youtube are : “Heal your body, mind whilst you sleep” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cnU1f1yQR4, “Healing from trama” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dCyEk6B93s, PTSD Visualization for relief and healing” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8e4sATalz8, Sleep hypnosis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWlf_rh7xFY and Hypnosis for feeling rapid confidence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2JRs05FLxg

There are some steps you can take to prepare for a hypnosis session and make it more effective. Here are some tips based on the results from my web search:

  • Talk to your hypnotist before the session and ask any questions you have. This can help you build trust and rapport with them.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and take care of your basic needs, such as eating, drinking, and using the bathroom. This can help you relax and avoid distractions.
  • Avoid stimulants, such as caffeine, alcohol, or cigarettes, before the session. These can interfere with your ability to enter a state of hypnosis.
  • Practice deep breathing and mindful meditation to calm your mind and body. This can help you focus on the hypnotist’s words and suggestions.
  • Be open-minded and committed to the process. Hypnosis is not a magic trick, but a natural and common phenomenon that can help you achieve positive changes. Don’t expect hypnosis to be a certain way, but rather let yourself experience it as it happens.
  • Be honest and clear about your goals and issues. Your hypnotist will use this information to create a personalized treatment plan and hypnotic suggestions for you. The more specific you are, the better the results will be.

Hypnosis is a technique that can help people achieve various goals, such as weight loss, pain relief, behavior change, and stress reduction. However, the history of hypnosis is not well-known by many people. Here is a brief overview of the history of hypnosis, based on the results from my web search:

  • Hypnosis has been used in some form or another since ancient times, by various cultures and traditions, such as the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Indians, Chinese, and Persians. They used hypnotic-like trance states for healing, divination, and religious rituals.
  • The modern history of hypnosis began in the 18th century, with the work of Franz Mesmer, a German physician who used hypnosis to treat patients in Vienna and Paris. He believed that hypnosis was caused by a mysterious force called “animal magnetism” that flowed through the hypnotist into the subject. However, his theory was debunked by a scientific commission, and he was discredited.
  • The term “hypnosis” was coined in the 19th century by Etienne de Cuvillers, a French researcher who studied Mesmer’s methods. He used the term to refer to a state of “nervous sleep” induced by suggestion. The term was popularized by James Braid, a Scottish surgeon who experimented with hypnosis and gave the first scientific definition of it. He also distinguished hypnosis from normal sleep and mesmerism, and introduced the concepts of “hypnosis” and “self-hypnosis”.
  • The 20th century saw the development of various schools and approaches to hypnosis, such as psychoanalysis, behaviorism, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Ericksonian hypnosis. Some of the influential figures in this period were Sigmund Freud, Clark Hull, Milton Erickson, Dave Elman, and Ernest Hilgard. They explored the applications, mechanisms, and phenomena of hypnosis, such as suggestion, regression, dissociation, and post-hypnotic amnesia.
  • The 21st century has witnessed the growth and recognition of hypnosis as a valid and effective technique for various purposes, such as clinical, educational, forensic, and recreational. Hypnosis has been supported by scientific research and endorsed by professional organizations, such as the American Psychological Association, the British Medical Association, and the World Health Organization. Hypnosis has also become more accessible and popular, thanks to the internet, media, and self-help products.
